Junior Research Scientist – Electrosurgical Engineering
E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – Kyiv, Ukraine Department “Welding and Related Technologies in Medicine and Ecology”
PROFILE
Engineer and research scientist with more than four decades of experience at the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute (PWI). Began his career designing arc-welding machines, control systems and seam-tracking equipment, and since 2009 has focused on high-frequency electrosurgical apparatus for the welding of living biological tissues. Named inventor on 10 patents for surgical welding equipment, instruments and methods.
FLAGSHIP PROJECT
DOPOMOGA – Portable Mobile Tissue Welding Unit for Emergency Surgical Help
Chief Designer – chief engineer; product design and scale-up to manufacturing; inventor of DOPOMOGA.
DOPOMOGA is the first portable, battery-powered, high-frequency bipolar electrosurgical device for high-frequency live tissue welding (HF LTW) in extreme and infrastructure-compromised environments – natural-disaster zones, mobile clinics, remote areas and emergency-response units. Whereas conventional HF LTW systems depend on continuous AC power and are confined to stationary hospital settings, DOPOMOGA enables off-grid, infrastructure-independent urgent surgical interventions, extending high-end electrosurgery to humanitarian missions, rural medicine and emergency stabilisation far beyond the traditional operating room.
