Secondment of project participant from "NANOTECHCENTER" Georgii Sokolsky to project partners from Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Republic of Slovenia under H-Gree “Innovative Functional Oxide Materials for Green Hydrogen Energy Production (HORIZON-TMA-MSCA-SE action)

Cooperation between scientists from different countries is crucial for advancing global knowledge, addressing complex challenges, and ensuring that science benefits humanity as a whole. In an increasingly interconnected world, international scientific collaboration has become not only beneficial but essential.

During the internship (July 30 – August 30, 2025), Georgii Sokolsky conducted research on testing photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution in collaboration with Dr. Marietta Kržmanc, a member of the K9 Advanced Materials department (Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana, Republic of Slovenia).

The parameters of photocatalytic water decomposition on a number of conventional (standard) catalysts, including platinum carbon nitride, have been established. The photocatalytic activity of samples of composite materials of manganese oxides/hydroxides, as well as promising photocatalysts with monatomic noble metal deposition, has been evaluated. Promising directions for further research have been identified.
